Cobig Company Expands Design & Simulation Capability

Company News
On 20 October 2025, Cobig Company strengthened its engineering capability through the acquisition of a perpetual licence for SOLIDWORKS Premium with SOLIDWORKS Simulation Premium and Cloud Services.
This investment expands our ability to support customers across mechanical design, engineering analysis, design optimisation and manufacture-ready development within one integrated environment.
For our customers, the aim is simple: make better engineering decisions earlier and develop robust solutions with greater confidence before committing to manufacture.
Expanding Our Design Capability
SOLIDWORKS Premium provides a comprehensive mechanical design environment covering 3D part and assembly modelling, engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
It also includes specialist tools for sheet metal, weldments, routing, tolerance analysis, motion studies and manufacturability checking. These capabilities allow us to consider how a product will be made and assembled from an early stage, helping to reduce potential issues later in development.
This gives Cobig Company greater capability to support projects from initial concept through to detailed, production-ready engineering definition.
Advanced Engineering Simulation
A key part of this investment is SOLIDWORKS Simulation Premium, which brings advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) directly into the design process.
This enables us to investigate how components and assemblies are likely to behave under realistic loading and operating conditions before physical parts are manufactured.
Capabilities include stress and displacement analysis, fatigue, buckling, thermal analysis, vibration and dynamic loading, drop and impact simulation, nonlinear analysis and design optimisation.
Better Engineering Decisions
Simulation does not replace physical testing or engineering judgement. It provides another tool for identifying potential issues while they are still relatively inexpensive to resolve.
By exploring different design options virtually, questions around strength, stiffness, weight, thermal performance or vibration can be addressed early, helping to reduce risk and avoid costly redesign.
This investment represents a long-term commitment to building our engineering capability and supporting our customers with practical, high-quality engineering solutions.
